Dear Rebecca,
I know it's been forever since we connected, but I am the Heidi from Vermont that was hoping to bring you to the Club @ Old Mill, on one of your trips to the East. I read your email the other day, and let me first give my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mom. Sounds like you were very dedicated in spending as much time possible with her before she passed, even though it added to much stress and running around. May God be with you and give you peace of heart, mind, and soul during this time.
I also would like to thank you for your "article" in your email about the times we are in, and struggling with keeping the "numbers up". I am very happy to report that my classes are staying strong, and I have such a committed number of 'core' people with new ones enrolling periodically. In my Seniors and Beginners mat class, I go by 5 week sessions so that I can really start new people from the beginning and walk them through all the basics. The people that continue to enroll session after session, tell me that the review is always good because they hear new things all the time that maybe didn't get absorbed all the hundreds of other times I said it. I love it when they say, "the light bulb came on : ) for me today!"
Also, they tell me how much they miss it when they are not able to come and how much they can tell when they have not been to class. My Seniors class is one of my largest classes! I teach 5 mat classes a week, which I incorporate the ring, band, ball, weights, depending on the class and who is in it. Of course I do not overwhelm newcomers because just the basics are a bit overwhelming at times. So I teach a Senior class, Adv. Class (some of which have been coming for 5 & 6 years!!!!), Standing with Int. Mat, and 2 beginner classes.
I love it! I love the relationships that I've built with people on a professional level, and even ended up having some great close friends through Pilates.
